Istanbul, yerlesim tarihi 300 bin, kentsel tarihi yaklasik 3 bin, baskentlik tarihi ise 1600 yila kadar uzanan Avrupa ile Asya kitalarinin kesistigi bir dünya kentidir. Çaglar boyunca çesitli uygarlik ve kültürlere ev sahipligi yapti. Yüzyillar boyu çesitli din, dil ve irktan insanlarin bir arada yasadigi kozmopolit ve metropolit yapisiyla dünyanin turistik açidan ilgi çeken önemli merkezlerinden biri olmayi basardi. Roma ve Bizans uygarliklarina ev sahipligi yapan Istanbul, 1453 yilinda Fatih Sultan Mehmet tarafindan Bizanslilardan alinarak, Osmanli dönemine de damgasini vurdu. Tarihi alanlari UNESCO Dünya Mirasi Listesi’ne 1985 yilinda eklenen Istanbul, 2010 yilinda "Avrupa Kültür Baskenti" seçildi.

DON QUICHOTTE "CITY OF ISTANBUL" INTERNATIONAL CARTOON EXHIBITION 2013

Istanbul is the intersecting point of Europe and Asia, with a settlement history of three hundred thousand years, an urban history of three thousand years and a capital dating back to the 1600s. Istanbul has been a home to various civilizations and cultures thorughout history. Due to Istanbul’s historical cosmopolitan and metropolitan structure it has attracted people with various religions, languages and races for centuries. It has now become one of the major touristic centers in the world. Istanbul hosted the Roman and Byzantinian Empires until Fatih Sultan Mehmet captured Istanbul from the Byzatines in 1453, which marked the rise of the Ottoman period. Historical areas of Istanbul were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1985 and Istanbul was chosen as the European Capital of Culture in 2010.

THE RULES OF EXHIBITION:

1) You can only participate in this exhibition by submitting your work through the e-mail address provided below: sehriistanbul@donquichotte.org
2) The designs are to be drawn in A3-Size to be delivered in 300 dpi and in JPEG format.
3) The closing date of the exhibition is December 31, 2012.
4) Will be given for the top ten cartoon "Don Quichotte" medal.
5) The oppening exhibition will take place in Istanbul-Beyoglu Teacherhause on January 10, 2013.
6) Participants of all ages can join in this exhibition with a maximum of 3 caricatures.

3th INTERNATIONAL TURHAN SELÇUK CARTOON CONTEST
SPECIFICATIONS
SUBJECT: Free

CONDITIONS:
1- The contest is open to all cartoonists.
2- The caricatures may be published before the contest. But they shouldn’t be rewarded at another contest.
3- The technique is free. Cartoonists can join the contest with maximum
3 caricatures. But the arts must be original. Digital prints will be accepted only if they are signed by the artist with wet signature.
4- The maximum size for caricatures must be 30×40 cm.
5- The contestants must write their name, surname, address, e-mail, country, and their telephone numbers with the big letters at the back of the cartoon. The contestants must put their CVs into the envelope.
6- The caricatures must be sent to the following address until June 1th 2013.

9- The contest album will be sent to the holders of the caricatures which will be selected by the Jury .

in Turhan Selçuk Caricature House. The gallery will be open until September 27th 2013.
11- The accommodation expenses of the winners will be paid. But transportation will be at their expense.

Is free of choice of the artist, in two dimensions, such as: graphical art, painting, digital art, cartoon, illustration etc. No photographic art

Each participant will send in the message’s body, in English language, the following information:

Each work will be identifiable on the participant’s lists by:

theme, position in the list of works, title, technique, dimensions, price (in EUR) and the associated file name

The file names will be defined as following:

theme_international code of the country_name initial_surname initial_verification code_position in the list of works

for example: Ion POPESCU from Romania, with his own code AZ5, the work is the second in his own list of works on the B theme.

7. Awards

Three prizes will be available per each theme

The prizes consist in exposure on the Salon’s website of

name and surname, a short CV, personal photo/cartoon, works, technique, dimension, price/work as following:

1st prize: 10 (ten) works + the awarded work

2nd prize: 5 (five) works + the awarded work

3rd prize: 3 (three) works + the awarded work

The Diplomas will be send by e-mail

The first ranked 25 (twenty five) works on each theme will be exposed on web-site, awarded works including.

The works will be exposed if these respond to all criteria and condition mentioned in this document.

A list of participants will be published as well

The Jury is entitled do not award one or more prizes according to their art’s criteria.

The jury decision cannot be appealed.

8. Winners

Participants whose works are selected to be awarded will be notified by e-mail.

In max 30 days after announcing prizewinners, they must send their works using all the above mentioned conditions.

This regulations are mandatory.

The authors remains the owners of their original works if they do not send original works.
The Salon do not sell anything and does not involve and is not responsible in any business transactions between authors and their beneficiaries. The authors themselves will sell their works on buyer’s request.

The authors who wont to participate into itinerant exhibitions will sent originals, these will not be returned.

The album of the Salon will be edited in electronic format, being available on Salon’s web-site.
The participants turns over all rights of their work’s images to International Salt & Pepper Satirical Art Salon and to "Salt & Pepper" Magazine and authorizes them to exhibit, archive and publish those in the media and/or the Internet without limitations. To promote The International Salt & Pepper Satirical Art Salon, "Salt & Pepper" Magazine is entitled to use these later as printed materials with the name of their author on these, without any compensation to authors. The itinerant exhibitions will be announced in media and the artists will be informed about.

"Afdesta" International-Online Cartoon Festival (2012)

To achieve peace, health and better life is man’s greatest challenge. Peace as the highest sense is a motivation, and pleasure that human must make effort to achieve.
The Afdesta Online Festival secretariat is pleased to present "The First Juried Cartoon" festival featuring some of the most leading international juries under the title: "peace". There will be a large selection and a variety of art to select from during this festival. Demonstrations by many of the winner artists will take place during permanent and online show. Competitors must illustrate "world peace". Questions are encouraged and welcomed.
1. Competition terms:

RICARDO RENDÓN
The Outstanding Colombian caricaturist born in Rionegro – Antioquia (1894-1931), call "The Emperor" of the Cartoon. One of the most penetrating and fine Latin American humorists in the XX century, in their work the humor was satire, it was characterized especially by the political cartoon. Their cartoons were true x-rays of the facts and of the individuals. It was pioneer of the graphic publicity in Colombia.

The Festival is an event sponsored by the municipal administration of Rionegro during eighteen serial years in memory of Ricardo Rendón Bravo.
The Festival, only in the history of the country for their trajectory and continuity; he has allowed to look at the perception of authors of but of 85 countries, main characters of the changes and experiences of the towns that contribute to the humanity’s growth with the same humour. The laughing thought and its universal language, caricature is the most effective weapon against the thought that does not laugh.
It is a dream and an universal yearning to erase frontiers so territorial as ideological that prevent us to live in harmony and to visualize the light of the freedom as principle of peace and coexistence.

The Conditions :

1) The contest is open to all cartoonists all over the world.
2) The deadline for entries is November 3 (Saturday) – 2012
3) The themes of the competition are Three:
Theme 1. WOMAN, Woman in the satirical presentation, modern and fashionable,
joyful and upset; a wife, mother or friend, woman the house, professional or just the
woman…

4) Each participant can present in the competition a maximum of Three cartoons for theme.
5) You can participate with cartoons in white and black or in color.
6) The size of cartoons will not exceed 30 x 40 cms maximum.
7) You can also participate in the competition with cartoons that have already been published or rewarded previously, all the presented cartoons will be original. Photographs, photocopies etc, will not be accepted, and the transport of the cartoons in charge of the participant.
8) Participants are requested to send, together with their cartoons, a short curriculum vitae and a photograph.
9) In the reverse of each cartoon he/she should go the name, surname, address, telephone number and country of origin of the participant.
10) The selected Caricaturist will receive free a catalogue.
11) The jury composed of Colombian and foreign cartoonists.
12) The results will be announced in the month of December of 2012.

13) The cartoons presented in the competition won’t be returned.
14) By filling in the entrance form attached, the participant declares and accepts in advance that (s)he has turned over the financial rights (s)he holds over the cartoon or cartoons vis-à-vis the public to Cartoonrendon without limitation on location, time period and number the intellectual property all rights for publication.(S)he agrees that Cartoonrendon may use such cartoons, exhibit them, keep them in its archives and publish them on the internet or through other media.
15) The organization is reserved the right of exhibiting those works that he/she understands they can attempt against individual or collective rights.

Apart from the one condition above, you can unleash your imagination! The world of work in agriculture, the construction industry or warehouses must give you plenty of ideas!

2nd International contest of cartoon "Fun in Vassylivka style"/Ukraine 2012

We declare new International competition of visual humour "Fun in Vassylivka style". Held competition
for development and support of cartoon, humour and satire in the genre of small graphic arts, strengthening
of creative and professional international contacts, popularizations of local and other brands too.

Also to the exposure and support of young cartoonists.

Main theme: «Castle». Ancient, old, new, ultranew castles

Conditions and rules

in decision of organizers and also can be placed on the site of museum.
9. Organizators must write name, surname author, his contry on all works.
10. Copyrights on image, names and texts of works, belong to the author, they do not change.
An author carries responsibility for the works in obedience to the current legislation of Ukraine.
11. Pictures which were the before recipients of an award on other competitions, sending is possible, but with
an obligatory mark, where and when they were the recipients of an award. The fact of participating means
in a competition, that participant accept all terms of competition.

Special conditions

1. On opening of exhibition and ceremony of rewarding of winners can arrive all persons interested,
before that warning the organizers of competition. For passage and dwelling they bear expenses.
2. As a result of competition "Fun in Vassylivka style" there will be given out catalogue. All authors,
whose works, will enter in a catalogue after the conclusions of judge, will get the free catalogue
of competition by mail.
3. Organizers and sponsors of competition can enter a few special prizes after receipt all works on a competition.
