PARTICIPATION RULES:

1. PARTICIPATION:

The Contest is open to all cartoonists from all over the world and beyond.

2. THEME: Migration

The concept of emigration has existed since the first hominids learned to walk. To move around, for social reasons or just for surviving, has always foot-printed the route of our species. Since our remote African origin until today, humans have explored the whole planet forming a wide range of settlements, apparently different, but with the same necessities. Nowadays, for some countries of the so called first world, immigration is contemplated almost like a plague: solid metal walls have been built to protect their borders and tough strict control systems are used in their customs. However, migration can´t be stopped and human beings, the direct descendents of hominids that knew no frontiers, will continue to move around the world.

3. THE PRIZES:

1st Prize: $2000 US dollars.

2nd Prize: $1500 US dollars.

3rd Prize: $1000 US dollars.

Winners will be notified by e-mail after 21st. November 2013.

4. ENTRIES

A maximum of 3 works can be submitted by E-mail in any media, in black and white or colour, but they should not have received a prize in other contests.

Works should have a minimum resolution of 200 dpi and keep the proportions of a Letter size paper sheet (21.5cms x 27.9cms). They should be sent to any of the following emails:

Competition details:

1. Participants can submit up to three original cartoons in A/4 or A/3 size, using any technique. Prints of cartoons produced or coloured with software can also be submitted on condition that it has the cartoonist’s original signature and the print’s serial number.

2. The participants should write their name, address, phone number and e-mail address on the back of the cartoons.

3. Deadline for entries: 15. 12. 2013.

use any entry at any time, for the purpose of promoting the event and / or conduct of roaming

project by states and municipalities if occurs. The artists participating in the "Show Humour

1st International Biennial of Caricature" cede automatically copyrights of their works, allowing

its use for reproductions and publications of any support, in accordance with Law No. 9610 of

February 19, 1888 (Law of Copyrights), aiming to promote the event, in all forms of use and

free of charge. Thus, the Act for registration of a work automatically imply the assignment of the

The Afdesta Online Festival secretariat is pleased to present its second cartoon festival featuring some of the most leading international judges entitle: "A World without Boundary". There will be a large selection and a variety of art to select from during this festival. Selected artworks from around the world will take place in Afdesta permanent online show. Competitors must illustrate "A World without Boundary".
Questions are encouraged and welcomed.

1. Competition terms:
A. Up to 5 artworks are accepted from each participant.
B. Artworks must be in A4 size and with 300 DPI qualities (format JPG-RGB)
Attention: to use the option: "save for web and devices" is recommended.
C. There is no limit for using design techniques (obviously, a well picture of non-digital artworks is required)
D. accepting an artwork is due to registration in festivals official website and accepting the rules.
E. All artworks must be submitted exclusively in the festivals official website:www.afdesta.net
Attention: works which are sent through e-mail or anyway other than uploading in the festivals official website are not included.
F. Afdesta secretariat is excused for accepting artworks containing insult to a nation or culture.

2. Festival’s Schedule:
A. Submitting artworks starts from October 18th 2013 to March 2th 2014.
B. Judging artworks is from March to 9th.
D. Announcement of the winners and displaying their artworks on festivals website starts from March 20th 2014.

3. Prizes:
A. Three nights residence in Kish Island for top 3 winners.
B. All participants will be rewarded festival’s attendance certificate.
