Opened to all the professional cartoonists, the works must be accompanied by the author card file (name, address, country, pic or author parody).

1) The authors must indicate back of the drawings if they desire to participate to the competition domain or out of the competition.

2) A jury composed by drawers, journalists and domain authorities will choose the best five drawings present “in competition”. Each one of the most voted drawings will receive:

FIRST PRIZE, “Humoris Causa” with Silver plaque

SECOND, THIRD, FOURTH & FIFTH PRIZE, Special Plaque “Humoris Causa” of the International Festival.

The prized work choice will take place after the last day of the “11th International Graphic Itinerant Humour Festival” exhibition, edition 2008.

3) The Festival direction, after the final poll will communicate the result on the Festival Web Site (http://www.festivalhumourgrafico.com/)

4) The cultural association “Lo Scrigno Dell’Arte” and the Festival artistic director will select the drawings for the exhibition. The choosen authors will receive one biennial catalogue at the end of the exhibition

5) Every author is liable of the content of his works, included the copyright of the authors themselves for what concerns texts, titles and images.

6) All the received works will not be returned, and they will become part of the future International Graphic Humour Festival museum.

7) The Festival doesn’t take on accountability for eventual damages during the works expedition.

8) The festival will reserve the right to expose the drawings and to publish them on the catalogue or in articles pertaining to the Festival.

9) The Festival Web Site will inform you of the 11th Itinerant Festival with news and photos at the end of it.

10)The participation at the exhibition involves the integral legal consent of this policy.

Off – side / inglese – fuorigioco / italian / sm. Inv [ sec XX ; fuori + gioco ].

Situation in which the player, in some team games, in the beginning of the offensive action from his own team, is situated after the last man of the other team; goals marked in off side aren’t good, and the irregular position is punished. In football the players that attacks is in off side when he is in the half side of the opponent team field and there’s noone between him and the opponent team golie.

The Cultural Association “Lo Scrigno Dell’arte” (non profit organism) organize the 11th International Graphic Humour Festival.

Why offside? Because thematics like football guised on paper from graphic humourist, creates an event that amuse the whole world spectators. In fact all the drawers present in the press pages of their country publish ideas on the football world as it’s the most popular sport in the world.

“Offside / to violence, indifference, discrimination and doping” is a cultural event on football world also to remember us that when life is in game, we play for life, because football is sport, happiness and desire of living. This proposal done in a critic moment for football, confirms what we’re saying from the beginning, that a football exposition is meeting moment for an healthy sport vision.

Football game is absolutely the national sport all over the world; the only one that join in a common enthusiastic feeling and participation of all the social classes and that can keep awake the attention much before and much later than the hour and a half of the match. The fact that television or the direct vision can communicate the games images, the public excitation is always on a very high level and tension never get down with the game’s end but goes over and involves in the streets also those who didn’t follow the match. It’s a game that, projected besides the official stadiums, daily propose itself in the thousand of football fields quite extemporized in schools, houses gardens or everywhere a kids group meet himself around a balloon.

Registering this phenomenon, with share spirit and with the placid point of view of cultural interest, with the clever curiosity inquiry and the gage thrown during the time by journalist, writers, photographers, sociologists, philosophers, painters and also drawers. This last category, the humoristic worldwide painters, compare themselves in a meeting exposition under the umbrella football.

A tribute to football in a cultural meeting that overpass the simply football language.

Football appassionates, is like a powerful river that can drag with him million of people to ride his wawe, in a climate mostly of party, football is life, most of all for those who live life in a sportily way. Football is love, especially for those who know the passion. Football is health, because sport must be healthy and honest and against every doping. Football is fun for everyone,above all for sceptic and committed persons. Football is also money, a meeting occasion for those who like staying together and they don’t want to stay no more alone.

For this and for all that this sport represent, we couldn’t do without involving the nibbest international pencils, trying to give football with a smile his primary identity: the game.

 

 

Picking Up The Pieces Cartoon Competition

Over the last few weeks, Kenya has witnessed post-election violence on an unimaginable scale. As efforts to resolve the political stalemate continue apace, there is need for the Kenyan society to initiate dialogue on the root causes of this violence and also to provide alternative avenues for the people to air their grievances without resorting to force.

The Association of East African Cartoonists (KATUNI) and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) are organizing a cartoon competition entitled “Picking up the Pieces” in hopes of contributing towards the identification of a lasting solution to the problem.

The goals of this competition are to identify the reasons for the violence and propose ways out of the crisis on the basis of the following questions:

What are the root causes of the violence?
How have our leaders reacted to crisis?
What is the way forward?

COMPETITION RULES:

Participation in the competition is open to all professional and amateur cartoonists.

All entries must include the artist’s address and daytime telephone number.

Submitted cartoons are to be either A4-Size (210X297mm) or A3-Size (420X297).

Digital copies submitted via email should be 300 dpi resolution and in JPEG format.

Cartoons may be either black-and-white or colored.

Cartoons advocating ethnic hatred, containing obscene language or scenes of gratuitous violence will not be accepted.

The deadline for receiving artworks is Monday 25th February 2008.

A jury of experts will select the 3 best cartoons for prize awards. The jury’s decision will be final.

The award of the prizes will take place during the opening of the exhibition on 7 March, 2008 at the Goethe Institut on Monrovia St., Nairobi.

All entries will be FES and KATUNI and will not be returned.

1. The aim of the contest is:

– creating an art gallery comprising works that could be used in actions promoting the city in a printed form or in the form of organized exhibitions.

– promoting the city, changing the traditional perception of Lodz and challenging the stereotypical image of the city.

2. It is an open contest. Everyone can participate in it, on condition that they submit their works with the application form before the regulatory deadline. The contest is an international event.

3. The theme of the third edition of The BIG BOAT of HUMOUR contest is:

“Boat fishing”

– capturing the paradoxical relationship between the name of our city and its inland location away from navigable waters, enriched with an interpretation of voyage, exploration and pioneering motif, characteristic of sailors.

4. The original works entered in the contest can be made using any drawing, graphic (including computer graphics) or painting technique and should not be larger than A3 format (297×420 mm). Accepted by the Jury as original graphic works are the copies of author’s edition described and signed by the author.

Photocopies and xerox copies of the works, computer printouts of scanned works or any other kind of duplication using multicopy techniques, for example offset printing, which serve as reproductions of a work, shall not be accepted by the Jury.

Previously published works, works entered in other contests or works to which rights do not belong to the authors shall also be excluded from the contest.

5. Each participant may submit up to 5 works. The works should be unframed, provided with the name and the surname of the author and possibly the title on the reverse. The works should be accompanied with an application form, which shall be tantamount to the acceptation of the contest regulations and a permission for publishing author’s personal data contained in the form, and with a CD with the electronic form of submitted works (in TIFF format, the resolution of 300 dpi, 15 cm at the base), which is the condition of placing them in the catalogue.

6. The works should be sent to the address of Lodzki Dom Kultury (Lodz Cultural Centre), ul. Traugutta 18, 90-113 Lodz, Poland till 30 April 2008 (with a note on an envelope “Big Boat of Humour 2008”).

7. The organizers are not liable for any damage to the works during delivery. The works shall be insured since the moment they are received by the organizers, during the exhibition and until their return to the authors.

8. The Jury shall choose works for the post-contest exhibition and hand out the Grand Prix of the contest on 5 May 2008.

9. The ceremonial opening of the post-contest exhibition and the verdict announcement shall take place on May 2008.

10. The authors of works admitted to the contest shall be invited to the ceremonial opening of the exhibition and shall receive the catalogue. The organizers do not provide the return of expenses covering transport to Lodz and stay in the city. The organizers anticipate the exhibition of the original works admitted to the contest in the building of Lodzki Dom Kultury (Lodz Cultural Centre) and the exhibition of printouts (on the basis of the submitted CDs) in Piotrkowska Street in the centre of the city.

11. The works that shall not be admitted to the contest as well as the works shown on the exhibition should be taken back from the organizers till 30 June 2008 or they shall be sent back to the authors.

AWARDS

1. The works shall be judged by the Jury of the Contest consisting of professional artists, the representatives of  the City of Lodz Office and the Organizers of the contest.

2. The Jury shall hand out the regulatory Grand Prix of the contest amounting to PLN 10,000, funded by the Mayor of the City of Lodz. The prize is indivisible. The Jury reserves the right to resign from handing out the award. In such case, the amount is added to the pool of prizes of the next edition of the contest. The decisions of the Jury are definitive without the right to appeal. The work (or works of one author) honoured with the prize, together with all the rights, become the property of the sponsor.  

3. The organizers allow for a possibility of handing out sponsored awards other than the regulatory prize. Works awarded by the sponsors, with all the rights, shall become the property of the sponsors.

FINAL PROVISIONS

1. Sending works to the contest together with a filled in application form equals giving consent to:

– participation in the post-contest exhibition (or a series of exhibitions), unpaid reproducing the works in all media and all techniques as far as promoting the City, the Contest and the exhibition is concerned.

– duplicating the works for the needs of non-commercial promotional actions carried out by the organizers (occasional publications, press materials and the Internet), at the same time, promoting the authors and their works.

– using the works in charity actions, carried out for the citizens in need by the Organizers during the period of one year starting from the date of the post-contest exhibition opening.

2. Participation in the contest means the acceptation of the above regulations.

4. Entries: – Initially each participant can send at most 3 works in digital form via Internet to the following address: cartoon@caricature.eu The author must indicate in his e-mail the following informations: his first name, name, complete address, e-mail address, his phone number and the title of each work. The characteristics of these electronic sendings are as follows: format JPEG, good quality and max. 500 KB per picture .

– Out of these sendings by e-mail the jury will make a selection of 120 drawings and will request from the authors of these works the sending by mail of the originals for the choice of the prizes and the publication in the catalogue. All these 120 originals will be shown in the exhibition. Their size will be between DIN A4 (210x 297mm) and DIN A3 (297x420mm), the paper of good quality, not folded and without a passe-partout. On the back side of every work must be clearly mentioned the first name, the name, the complete address, the e-mail address, the phone number of the author as well as the title of the work. This deadline is 10 th April 2008.

5. Technique: Free, black and white or in color, without captions.
6. Exhibition: The award ceremony will be held on 25 th April 2008 in the castle and the exhibition will take place in the Hall of the knights of the Castle-palace of Vianden from 26 th April 2008 until 25 th May 2008. Then the exhibition will take place in the Museum of Caricature of Vianden until 30 th October 2008.

7. Returns: After 30 th October 2008 the originals will be returned to their authors except the works selected for one of the prizes. The awarded works will become property of the organizer.

The organizer cannot be held responsible for loss or damage during sending back.

8. Catalogue: The authors whose works will be selected for the exhibition will receive a free catalogue by mail. Prize winners will get their catalogue during the handing over of the prizes.
9. Results: The publication of the results will be done on the Internet sites www.caricature.eu and www.castle-vianden.lu 26th April 2008. The award winners selected by the jury will be personally informed by e-mail or by phone.

The final decisions of the jury, which will meet on the 22th March 2008, are undeniable.

10. Copyright: The selected participants allow the organizers to use their works only for promoting the author, as well as the event. All other copyright remains property of the author.

1st Amazon Humor Salon Ecology in a line-drawing

 RULES

1. Nature and scope of the Salon 
The 1st Amazon Humor Salon � Ecology in a line-drawing, intends to be part of the agenda of events related to cartoon production in Brazil and abroad, aiming at stimulating and publicizing cartoonists in general. It is important that this salon is a graphic platform that will show the talent and critic perception of all cartoonists concerned with ecological problems that afflict our planet, specially the Amazon region.

 2. Deadlines
The 1st Amazon Humor Salon � Ecology in a line-drawing will take place from March 25th to 30th. See deadlines below:

a) Deadline for entries: March 5th, 2008;
b) Selection of entries: March 15th, 2008;
c) Opening and Award Ceremony: March 25th, 2008;
d) Closing ceremony: March 30th, 2008.  

3. Themes 
a) Ecology (Compulsory) – In this category will be all cartoons whose theme is related to ecological problems.

b) Communication – In this category will be all cartoons whose theme is related to communication around the world.

 4. Registration
a) Works must be submitted by e-mail, 300 dpi resolution image; dimension of 3,543 x 4,724 pixels or 30 x 40 cm; RGB color model; jpg format (average quality = 5) maximum size of 1.5 MB, along with the Entry Form containing the following data: name of the author, fictitious name, address, phone numbers, e-mail, ID card or Passport number and bank account details.

b) Each author may sent a maximum of two works per theme:

1- Theme: ecology
2- Theme: communication.

 5. Jury
a) The organizing team of the 1st Amazon Humor Salon will appoint a Pre-Selection Committee whose responsibility will be to select the works that will take part in the exhibition and in contest. This Committee will also select the works that will be in the catalogue;
b) The Jury will be constituted by five members qualified professionals in the field.
c) The president of the Jury will be an artist specially invited for the event;
d) The number of works in the catalogue may be different from the number selected for the exhibition. No complaints on this matter will be considered;
e) The Jury is responsible for granting prizes and special awards;
f) Decisions made by the Jury and the Pre-Selection Committee are final.

6. Works and originals
a) Submitted works will not be returned and will be part of the Amazon Humor Salon�s collection.
b) The production company Central de Produ��o � Cinema e V�deo na Amaz�nia, which is responsible for this project, has the right to use any submitted work, at any time, for publicizing the event.
c) None of the works will be put for sale or used for commercial purposes.

 7. Catalogue
a) All participants with works selected for the catalogue will receive a copy of it

 8. Copyright
a) Submitting a work will imply that the author grants reproduction rights to the salon for non-commercial purposes.
b) All rights of prize-winning works will be automatically given to the organization of the 1st Amazon Humor Salon.

11. Prizes

      Azerbaijan Cartoonists’ Union will prepare a big book-catalogue under the name “Best Specimens of World Cartoon” consisting of cartoons sent to this contest. This book-catalogue will include cartoons that won prizes or were placed in the catalogues of different international cartoon contests of the XXI century (2000-2007). A cartoonist may also send any cartoon of his that he considers best of all.

         Leaders and presidents of all cartoon organizations may give short information about their cartoonists and cartoon organizations, about the history of cartoon in their countries, or generally about cartoon genre. The information must be affirmed by an official signature or a stamp. There will be separate pages for the cartoonists and cartoon organizations of each country. Cartoon organizations will be sent one copy of the book-catalogue as a present.

  The editor and publisher of this book-catalogue is Bayram Hajizadeh, the President of Azerbaijan Cartoonists’ Union. Best specimens of the world cartoon will be placed in this book-catalogue that is going on to be published by the support of Azerbaijan Republic Ministry of Culture and Tourism and FECO.

Karikatürcülerin dikkatine!

 

Yarýþmaya gönderilecek en iyi karikatürler Azerbaycan Karikatürcü Ressamlar Birliðinin “Dünya Karikatür Ýncileri ” isimli kitap-albümüne dahil edilecekdir. En iyi karikatürlerden oluþacak bu kitap-albümde  XXI yüzyýlda (2000-2007 yýllarýnda) Uluslararasý karikatür yarýþmalarýnda ödül almýþ ve ya albüme dahil edilmiþ karikatürler yer alacakdýr. Karikatürcü çizer kendi beyendiyi ve ya en iyi karikatürü olduðunu düþündüyü  eseriyle  de katýla bilir.

        

 Karikatür organizasyonlarý baþkanlarýnýn dikkatine!

Tüm Karikatür organizasyonlarý baþkanlarý kendi ülkelerinin karikatür tarihi, kendi karikatür organizasyonlarý, ressamlarý ile ilgili ve ya  karikatür sanatýndan bahs eden küçük bir yazý hazýrlayýp göndere bilirler. Yazýlar resmi imza ve ya mühürle tasdik edilmelidir.  Her bir ülkenin karikatür orqanizasyonu baþkanýna ve ya karikatürcülerine özel sayfalar ayrýlacakdýr. Karikatür orqanizasyonlarýna özel olarak kitab-albüm hediyye olarak gönderilecekdir.

          Kitap-albümün editörü ve hazýrlayaný Azerbaycan Karikatürcü Ressamlar Birliði baþkaný Bayram Hacýzadedir. Azerbaycan Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlýðý ve FECO-nun yardýmýyla hazýrlanacak bu kitapda dünya karikatürünün en deðerli eserleri yer alacaktýr.

TEKNÝK ÞARTNAMESÝ

 

AMAÇ:

 

         Telif haklarýnýn korunmasý ve bütün alanlarda korsanlýkla etkin mücadele edilmesidir. Çaðýmýzda yeni bir insanlýk anlayýþý doðmuþtur. Buna göre, toplumlarýn kendi haklarýný aramalarý bir yaþam biçimi halini almýþtýr.

Endüstri ve bilgi çaðý ile ortaya çýkan bu yeni görüþlere göre amaç sadece topluma gerçeði anlatmak deðil, düþündürmek, gerçeðe yön vermek ve gerçeði çözümlemektir. Bir anlamda bilinçsizlikten bilince geçmektir. Bireye fikirlerinizi verme yerine ona denemeyi öðretmek ve kendi fikirlerini ortaya koyma ortamýný saðlamak bu çaðýn özelliklerinden biridir.

Kendi fikirlerini ortaya koyma ve düþünceyi görselleþtirme alaný sanat eðitimi yoluyla mümkündür. Nitekim eðitim, çaðdaþ geliþmiþ ileri toplumlarda sanat ve bilimin eþdeðerliliðini emeðe saygý ve düþün alanýný koruma yoluyla saðlayabilmiþtir. Düþünceyi üreten, düþünmeyi öðrenen, öðrendiðini üretime dönüþtüren toplumlar, üreten ve taklitçiliðe düþmeyen toplumlardýr. Bu toplumlarýn en belirgin özelliði ve en önemli yönü, özgün fikirleri geliþtirebilen yaratýcý sistemi içermesidir.

Düþünce en yüksek frekanslý enerjidir. Geliþen dünyada temel hak ve özgürlükler yanýnda uygar dünyanýn öne çýkardýðý en temel hak alanlarýndan biri de emeðin korunmasý ve düþünce alanýnýn geliþtirilmesidir.

Yüksek enerji alaný diye adlandýrýlan bu alanýn korunmasý ve üretime dönüþtürülmesi için öncelikle eðitim alanýnýn ve toplumun bilinçlendirilmesi þarttýr.

Esere, Emeðe Saygý Resim, Afiþ, Logo ve Karikatür Yarýþmasý üretkenliði geliþtirme, farklýlýklarý koruma, entelektüel kültür ve uygarlýk alanlarýný çað aþamalarýnýn getirdiði yeniliklere ve çaðdaþ dünya toplumuna kazandýrma hedefinde önemli bir bilinçlendirme projesidir. Bu projenin hedefi ve amacý AB Birliðine giriþ sürecinde Fikri ve Sýnaî Haklar alanýnda yaþanýlan sorunlarýn aþýlmasý ve toplumun bütün alanlarýyla bilinçlendirilmesidir. 

Bu doðrultuda üniversite ve görsel sanat eðitimi veren kurumlar, bilgi ve düþünce üreten alanla, tüketen alanýn eþteþliði göz önünde bulundurulmuþtur.

Türkiye nüfusunun yaþ ortalamasý düþünüldüðünde hedef kitle tüketimin %63’ünün gerçekleþtiði gençliktir ve bu gençlik geleceðin Türkiye’sinde söz sahibi olmasý nedeniyle önem arz etmektedir.

“Esere ve Emeðe Saygý” baþlýklý projenin kamunun ve toplumun korsanla mücadele yönündeki azmini ve gücünü kuvvetlendireceði varsayýlmaktadýr.

 

   

KONU:

 

Her alan için konu amaçta belirlenmiþ ilkeler doðrultusunda ESERE VE EMEÐE SAYGI olarak belirtilmiþtir.

 

a)     Genel amaçlar doðrultusunda sanatçýlar kendi bireysel üslup ve anlatým biçimlerini özgürce ifade etmek

b)     Her türlü kültürel alaný koruma ve üretime saygý, kültürel zenginlik, iletiþim

c)     Ýzinsiz çoðaltýlmýþ, CD, ses dolum kasetleri, her türlü film, müzik üretimleri

d)     Baþkasýna ait her türlü sanatsal ürün ve üretimin izinsiz çoðaltýmý, basým ve daðýtýmý

e)     Sahte ilaç, gýda ve tekstil ürünlerinin yapým, çoðaltým ve satýmý

f)       Sahte marka ve ürünlerle mücadele

g)     Sanatsal ortam ve kültürel alanýn geliþtirilmesi, üretim özgürlüðü

h)     Üretimin tüm alanlarýnda emeðe saygý bilincinin güçlendirilmesi ve geliþtirilmesi

 

  

KATILIM

 

KARÝKATÜR:

 

·  Yarýþma bütün karikatürist sanatçýlara açýktýr.

·  Her sanatçý yarýþmaya daha önce sergilenmemiþ ve ödül almamýþ en çok üç eseriyle katýlabilir. 

·  Yarýþmaya verilecek eserlerin uzun kenarý 50 cm’den fazla olmamalýdýr.

·  Yarýþmaya eser verecek sanatçýlar kendi anlatým biçimlerine uygun her türlü teknik ve malzemeyi kullanmakta serbesttir.

·  Katýlýmcýlar eserlerini koyduklarý zarfýn üstüne I.Ulusal Esere Saygý Ve Korsanla Mücadele Karikatür Yarýþmasý ibaresini koymalýdýr. Katýlýmcýlar eserin arka yüzüne adýný, soyadýný, özgeçmiþ ve iletiþim adresini belirten bir etiket yapýþtýrmalýdýr.

 

RESÝM:

 

• Yarýþmaya yüksekokul, fakülte ve üniversite öðrencileri (yüksek lisans ve doktora dahil) en çok üç eseriyle katýlabilir. 
• Katýlýmcýlarýn eserlerinin uzun kenarý 110 cm’yi geçmemelidir.
• Resimlerde her türlü malzeme kullanmak serbesttir.
• Resimlerin arka yüzüne katýlýmcýnýn adý, soyadý, özgeçmiþi ve iletiþim adresinin belirtildiði bir etiketin konmasý gerekir.

 

AFÝÞ ve LOGO:

 

• Yarýþma bütün sanatçýlara, üniversite, fakülte ve tüm yüksekokul öðrencilerine açýktýr. Katýlýmcýlar yarýþmaya en çok üç özgün eseriyle katýlabilir.
• Yarýþmaya verilecek eserlerin (afiþ) uzun kenarý 70 cm’yi geçmeyecek foto blok veya mukavva kartona yapýþtýrýlmýþ þekilde olacaktýr.
• Yarýþmaya verilecek logo eserler 30×30 boyutlarýnda, 200 gram kaðýt üzerine tasarlanacak, ayrýca 3 cm. boyutlarýnda bir örneði yüzeyin alt köþesinde yer alacak þekilde hazýrlanmalýdýr.
• Eserler (logo ve afiþ) ayrýca CD ortamýnda vectorel olarak hazýrlanacaktýr.
• Eserin arka yüzüne katýlýmcýnýn adý, soyadý, özgeçmiþi ve iletiþim adresinin belirtildiði bir etiketin konmasý gerekir.

Eserler belirtilen adrese elden veya kargo gönderimi olarak teslim edilebilir. Ancak GESAM; kargoda doðabilecek herhangi bir hasar ve zarardan sorumlu olmayacaktýr.
