1st.  Prize: Golden mermaid + $ 2000 US Dollars.

4. ENTRIES

A maximum of 3 works can be submitted in any media, black and white or colour, but they should have been elaborated specifically for this contest.

It’s recommended to send the works by E-mail but also they can be sent by surface mail. Please do not send originals – good quality photocopies, laser or desk jet printouts would be sufficient.

 

Works sent by E-mail should have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi and should keep the proportions of a Letter size paper sheet (21.5cms x 27.9cms). They should be sent to:

Beijing Science Education Cartoon & Animation Creative Competition 2008

2008 Beijing Science Education Cartoon & Animation Creative Competition has officially started on July 15, 2008. Activities for the animation enthusiasts and the special organization. We can improve our cultural qualities and bring honor to Olympic spirit with the lively works. Let us use this special form to celebrate the Olympic Games.
    Popular science is relevant to our life. With our country’s developing, we can improve citizen’s culture and promote popular science consciousness. This big game’s hold will be effective in promoting the community as a whole atmosphere of Popular Science. Hope you join us:

2- Theme
    All of our daily lives include living, dining, travel, dress, sports, automotive, environmental protection and current affairs are relevant to popular science, which can be as creative themes. The participative author can play own imagination fully.
3- Date
    Collection time : July 15th 2008 — November 30th 2008
     Appraisal time : December 1th 2008 — December 20th,2008
4- Cartoon works request
    The work can be Single cartoons, Four-frame comic strips, Multi-grid comic and Illustrations
    The size A4(21*29.7cm) is better. Picture is Tiff or Jpg , use Fountain pen except Colored and electronic form manuscript. Hand-painted need to preserve the original draft, after scanning, you then upload the participation. Works resolution shall not be less than 300 dpi. If you submitted by mail, please only use CD-ROMS and accessory detailed writing introduction, creativity explanation and so on . Do not accept a separate print version.
5- Animation Works request
    The work can conclude Television animation, Network animation, Flash animation
The work time length is not limit, Suggests 30 second – 3 minute. Flash animation work must submit SWF and FLA source document. 3-D animation works should submit MOV form. Select a representative picture and interception a part as work index image. ( size: 130*100 form is better, tiff and jpg form each, Size: below 20k). If you submitted by mail, please only use CD-ROMS and accessory detailed writing introduction, creativity explanation and so on .

    The participative work must be from the participants or collective creativity. If discovered that plagiarizes and encroaches other people’s property right. Plagiarist will be disqualified.
6. Prize
    First prize: one ,10000 RMB with certificate and awarding cup
    Second prize: four, 5000 RMB with certificate and rewarding cup
    Third prize: six, 2000 RMB with certificate and awarding cup
    The cartoon and the animation have the reward below:
    Best creativity prize : one , 6000 RMB with certificate and awarding cup
    Best technical prize: one, 6000 RMB with certificate and awarding cup
    Popularity for the best: one, 6000 RMB with certificate and awarding cup
    Nomination prize : Animation, cartoon each 100 people, with certificate, awarding cup and Souvenirs

7- Appraisal
[1]. Initial assessment: Works by the organizing committee to review .The standard into the next round of competition.
[2]. Shortlisted assessment: According to the jury and the public to vote on the assessment works. Selected 100 works and Shortlisted both will receive awards nominations.
[3]. Final assessment: According to the jury and the public to vote the final assessment works. All the assessment works will be exhibit on the Beijing Technic magazine and other websites. Submission outstanding works will be published on zhongman.com and other media to exhibit and promotion.

B R A Z I L   C A R T O O N ‘ S   Y E A R   B O O K  –  2 0 0 8   R U L E S

Brazilcartoon’s Yearbook is an original initiative that will gather the best humor drawings of 2008 exhibited on “the best day’s humor”. The yearbook will be printed and will have attached to it a DVD containing the drawings in high quality for printing. Brazilcartoon’s International Yearbook 2008 will have all drawings and their respective authors, their names, e-mail or the author’s website.
1- Why to participate?
Brazilcartoon’s International Yearbook 2008 will be released nationally and internationally and a lot of people will see it. Besides, it will be a historical document on the drawings of humor.
2- What to send?
Cartoons that deal with a universal subject will be accepted, which means cartoons with no texts. The theme is free, however only cartoons that do not contain any kind of discrimination, be it religious, ethinic or pornographic will be accepted. Another category is Caricature and illustration following the same criteria just mentioned. The caricatured ones must be people internationally known at sports, politics, culture, etc. All techniques will be accepted, since the works are sent digitally.
3- How to send the works?
All information must be provided so that we avoid frauds: Full name, address, picture, short biography, e-mail. Send to anuario@brazilcartoon.com
Note: The same drawing must be sent through the system “The Best Day’s Humor” which is available at Brazilcartoon Home Page.
4- Format:
All works must be sent through e-mail: 300 DPIs, color mode RGB, JPG format. Limit 20 x 17 cm.
5- Number of works:
Candidates are allowed to send one work a day. Everyday Brazilcartoon will select three works (caricature, cartoon, Illustration) from different authors that will be part of the gallery “Yearbook 2008”.
6- Selection:
Participants selected for the Brazilcartoon’s International Yearbook 2008, will have the right of receiving a DVD, which will be sent through the mail service. The author must request it and he or she will pay only for the mail expenses.
7- Purchasing it:
Brazilcartoon will sell the yearbooks to provide income for its production. If you are interested in buying it, please contact us through e-mail: anuario@brazilcartoon.com or by phone 38 – 3216-1109.
8- Deadline:

9- Copyright:

1ST INTERNATIONAL “OLIVE” CARTOON CONTEST 2008

 

 

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS:

1-This contest and exhibition is open to all professional and amateur cartoonists of any nationality religion and background…

 

2-Subjects-Topics: Cartoons against detroying the olive trees, olive, olive industry, olive oil, olive branch, olive tree, cutting olive trees, benefit from olive etc…

 

3-The minimum and maximum sizes of each cartoon to be submitted must be  A4 and  A3. Cartoons can be drawn in any colour… There shall be no frame nor any bandages around the cartoons…

4-The cartoons must be original… Photocopies and technically produced (from the computer) cartoons will not be evaluated. This type of cartoons will only be exhibited or will be put in the albume if approved by the selection committee…

 

5-The cartoons submitted to the contest which will be pre-elected will be put and exhibited on a web page for the attention and objection of international cartoon associations to overcome copying and steeling… Any cartoon which is copied, stolen or awarded in other cartoon contest will be disqualified…

 

6-All participants are allowed to submit maximum two cartoons… Name, surname, address, e-mail and telephone numbers of  the participants must be  written at the back of each cartoon… A short resume and photograph must also be  attached…

 

7-All the cartoons must reach to the specified addresss till 30 August 2008… The cartoonists themselves will be responsible from all losses, delays and damages…

 

8-Being publicated or not is not important for the cartoons… The important thing is that they should not be awarded in any contest…

 

9-All cartoons eligible for an award or not shall not be returned and shall be stored in archive of the “Cyprus Inernational Catoon Museum.”

 

10-Besides those cartoons which will be awarded, all the cartoons approved by the selection committee will be pubicated in an album and exhibited in Zeytinlik Village at 5-10 October 2008 during the “7th International Olive Festival”.

 

11-The result of the contest will be announced in local newspapers…

 

The transfer and accomodation expenses of the cartoonists who will win the first three awards will be paid by the Municipality of Kyrenia…

 

Only the accomodation expenses of the cartoonists who will win particular/distinctive awards will be paid by the Municipality Of Kyrenia…
