LIST OF THE CONDITIONS FOR 2010 INTERNATIONAL CARTOON CONTEST “NAJI AL ALI” ON PALESTINE

LIST OF THE CONDITIONS FOR 2010 INTERNATIONAL CARTOON CONTEST "NAJI AL ALI" ON PALESTINE

Naji al Ali and Handala are two symbols of the Palestinian national resistance who never yielded to the occupiers since decades. The Palestinian cartoonist Naji al Ali, who had shelted to a refugee camp in Lebanon after the 1948 occupation when he was 10 years old and who has been assasinated by Israeli agents in London in 1987 has left a child to all of the peoples of the world; it is Handala, a child who will always be 10 years old. Under nearly 40 thousand cartoons who narrate Palestine, appears Handala as he has turned us his back. He is offended to everybody who do not hear the voice of a people of which the country and right to life is stolen; and it is only after the liberation of Palestine that he will turn his face again.
We started to work to commemorate the memory of Naji al Ali, who dedicated his life of 50 years to the stuggle to free his country, and he did it mainly by his cartoons. We know well that the zionist occupiers have even fear of the designs. Let them have fear! We shall continue to design Palestine.
Not only the Palestine who fights, but also the Palestine who breathes…
We’re calling everyone who want to support this heritage as well as to support this struggle, to participate to the 2010 International Cartoon Contest "Naji al Ali" on Palestine and to make heard the sound of Naji al Ali, Handala and Palestine.

2nd International Humor Contest of Belo Horizonte “BH Humor”

2nd International Humor Contest of Belo Horizonte "BH Humor"

SUBJECT: TRANSPORTATION AND TRANSIT

It is believed that the wheel has arisen for over 6000 years, originating from a stone or a tree trunk, no one knows for sure. The consequences of this discovery we all know. Today, faster or slower, millions of wheels, large or small, operate in the world without stopping, turning life into motion.

It is true that in the middle of this path, the domestication of animals was a clever way used by our ancestors for their locomotion. Horses, elephants and camels are examples of animals that are still used as a means of transport.

But the need to shift more quickly and efficiently was the great engine to drive the man to create his wonderful machines to overcome obstacles and distances. So with the big ships of old, the steam trains of the 19th century, the invention of the airplane in the early 20th century and the conquest of space with unimaginable spacecraft. Whether by land, by water, air, the man stepped far beyond its own legs in the best sense of that expression.

It is impossible to think of the evolution of human society without its various means of transport, a simple bike to the ingenuity of a helicopter, through the convenience of the elevator, the mysteries of a submarine, the risks of a motorcycle up to the seductive power of the car, this Finally confused in many situations as an extension of their body. But what is the solution most often is also the problem. Every country in the world and its large, medium and small cities face the challenges of urban mobility.

The traffic is a reflection of such a crisis of values which we live. Our streets have become the scene of battles between machines and people with severe consequences for the human being and environment. The man goes to power your car and your driving skills. Traffic jams in major cities have become absurd that defy logic. Is the line the shortest distance between two points?

Efficient public transport policies are made increasingly necessary to resolve this conflict. But not only governments have roles to play. The industry, the media and society need to review concepts. The quality of transit therefore depends on the relationship between people and not only mechanisms of control and surveillance legislation.

It is for this reason that the BH Humor launches "Transportation and Traffic" as the theme for its second edition. Calling all cartoonists, professionals and amateurs, for a critical and humorous about it!

Get to work and hit the road!
