Nidal Sijary is the sincere, the friend, and the compassionate who loved and was loved by people. He was this talented actor who drew the smile on the face of every simple person.
Nidal Sijary passed away after being defeated by death. His illness had caused him to lose his voice. He said "I was betrayed by my vocal cord so I extracted it…I plead you not to betray your country." The theatre has moaned his loss … and the curtains drew to a silence. The 2014 FIFA World Cup will be the 20th FIFA World Cup, an international men’s football tournament, that is scheduled to take place in Brazil from 12 June to 13 July 2014. It will be the second time that Brazil has hosted the competition, the previous being in 1950. Brazil was elected unchallenged as host nation in 2007 after the international football federation, FIFA, decreed that the tournament would be staged in South America for the first time since 1978 in Argentina, and the fifth time overall.

 

The national teams of 31 countries advanced through qualification competitions that began in June 2011 to participate with the host nation Brazil in the final tournament. A total of 64 matches are to be played in twelve cities across Brazil in either new or redeveloped stadiums, with the tournament beginning with a group stage. For the first time at a World Cup Finals, the matches will use goal-line technology.

 

With the host country, all world champion teams since the first World Cup in 1930 (Uruguay, Italy, Germany, England, Argentina, France and Spain) have qualified for this competition. Spain is the defending champion, having defeated the Netherlands 1-0 in the 2010 World Cup final to win its first World title. The previous four World Cups staged in South America were all won by South American teams.

7th Edition of the International Humor and Satire on Manners Prize Novello-Italy 2014

The competition for the 7th Edition of the International Prize in Humour and Satire "Novello: A Gentleman of Good Family", is launched by the City of Codogno with the support of public and private institutions.
Participation is open to professional and amateur graphic artists, who can take part in the competition by sending unpublished drawings. An unpublished work is considered as such when not published on web sites, catalogues, magazines, newspapers, books, and TV programmes, or exhibited in no kind of art exhibitions..

How to participate
Each artist will be allowed to participate with a maximum of three works on the same theme :
EXPO 2015
In 2015, the Expo will address the theme of food in every facet. Therefore Authors are invited to illustrate all aspects related to food, through graphic art: that is to say quality, a fair redistribution of resources, the problem of Hunger and Thirst in the world, research and technology applied to food, styles life and rediscovery of the culinary traditions of the countries, as well as all other aspects related to food that can be graphically represented by a humorous drawing.

The drawings must be submitted in electronic format by loading into the Application Form available on the website www.premionovello.it, no later than June 3, 2014.
They must have the following characteristics: JPG 300 dpi – high resolution – A4 size indicative formed with maximum computing features 10Mbyte –
Author’s last name and title of the work must also be mentioned in the Application Form.

No other forms of presentation are allowed.
The work must correspond to the grounding spirit of the Award, which consists of Humour and Satire. Therefore works of political satire or drawings that may transgress the laws of common human decency will not be accepted.
The work must be unpublished, and may be accomplished by using all techniques, in black and white or colours, and may either contain text or not.

Awards
The works will be judged by a jury formed by sorting cartoonists, journalists and personalities from the world of culture and entertainment. The best ones will be displayed in the exhibition of the International Prize in Humour and Satire that will be held in the month of October 2014, in the premises of the historic building "Soave Old Hospital", located in Viale Gandolfi, 6 – 26845 Codogno.

The winners will receive the following amount:

1st Rank – Novello Prize – EUR 1,500.00
2nd Rank – EUR 1,000.00
3rd – Rank – 500.00 euros

The winners will be requested to integrate their applications with the production of personal identification documents.
The works received become part of the general Archive of the Prize, and may be used for promotional purposes of the Prize or the cultural activities of the City of Codogno in every public and private means of communication: magazines, newspapers, books, TV, or web sites, in Italy or abroad.
Therefore, the competitors are requested to consent to the reproduction of their work as long as this is not for profit.

10th International – National Fair Play Cartoon Contest 2014 / 2015, Turkey

Fair Play Council of National Olympic Committee of Turkey 10th Fair Play Cartoon Contest 2014-2015Organized by Fair Play Council of National Olympic Committee of Turkey, the start is given for 10th International – National Fair Play Cartoon Contest. The contest is open for the young people under 18 years old, in addition to older amateur and master cartoonists.
What Is Fair Play?
Fair Play is an Anglo-Saxon terminology. It means honest play and honest attitude.
The exact meaning of Fair Play is an attitude in excess the ethics. The attitude in excess ethics means to approach to any matter with an attitude of honesty and respect. The Fair Play is an act of revealing super human being performed by suppressing all kind of personal benefits and passion. There is no limit for Fair Play that is bounded by the affection, friendship and brothers hip. All boundaries of the world are artificial. This is mainly because it is the boundaries of the soul that matter.
Short Background
Use of Fair Play for the first time dates back to 15th century. The term "Foul Play" was used for ungentlemanly conduct of the chevaliers during the contests. Fair Play is just the opposite of that. William Shakespeare, famous 16th-century author used the term Fair Play in his books. Fair Play is first used as good play in England in 18th century and soon adopted in the sports world. By the end of 20th century, the organizations began to use Fair Play as the social training motto in their activities (transcribed from www.fairplayturkiye.com).
Terms of Joining Contest:
1. Subject: Fair Play. The request is made to submit the cartoon that reveals the sportsmanship in the sportive contest performed all over the world, complete with the humor.
2. Size: The cartoons will be drawn up to 25 x 35 cm sheets maximum.
3. Technique: Colored or black and white. The cartoons will not be as drawn by the pencil; however, will be painted by pilot type or similar paint according to printing technique. The marker will not be used.
4. The cartoons will be original production of the artist, revealing his/her own approach.
5. The cartoons that may have already exhibited or contested; however, they shouldn‘t be awarded in any contest before.
6. Digital cartoons are acceptable.
7. The contestants are required to provide their IDs complete with the name, surname, address and telephone information.
8. The cartoons will be mailed or sent by cargo before the deadline. The works of arts will be placed in between hard cardboards without rolling or folding. Personal delivery to the address is acceptable.
9. Fair Play Council of National Olympic Committee of Turkey will be entitled to have those cartoons that will be selected by the jury to be included in the album, reproduced as poster or exhibited in various locations or schools, irrespective whether or not awarded.
10. The participants by submitting the cartoon will be provided with the albums.
11. The cartoons will not be returned back, irrespective they are awarded or not. The participants will be considered as accepted foregoing terms.

BASES
1. All illustrators and cartoonists religious or sexual militancy residents may participate in any part of our Mother Earth , amateur or professional , 18 to 120 years old , of any marital status . Members of the Organization of the Contest, or the editorial board of MAS, nor Ink Carp may not participate .

Two . Each participant may submit a maximum of 3 illustrations dialogues, or parliament or speech bubbles . THE subject on which works should be inspired is PUBLIC SAFETY , urban social factor rundown in many cities. Entries may or may not have achieved any consideration or premium on similar events , but must be original author that sends , ie , copies and / or plagiarism detected by the jury will be disqualified immediately ( the story of the mistake of the secretary or homage to a particular teacher, not worth ) .
