THE RICH, THE POOR, THE PROTESTER is the main theme for the 2012 PortoCartoon.
Statistical indicators show that the world is becoming more asymmetrical.
The rich get richer and the number of poor is increasing. The crisis enlarges the inequalities. The "outraged movement" is extending to several countries. With the social networking envolved.
There will be a Tsunami of indignation? Looking for new kinds of democracy?
In addition to participating with cartoons on the main theme, the cartoonists can also send works for the FREE CATEGORY, as per the previous editions.

The artists who do not wish to compete can send their works to the EXTRA-COMPETITION section informing of this decision.

3.1. Works must be originals and any kind of graphical technique will be accepted, including digital artwork, sent by Internet, if the prints are SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR and if they are indicated as PRINT NUMBER ONE, or a original to this contest.
3.2. Can also be presented sculptures pieces of humour, in any kind of material.

The works can have at the maximum the following measures:
– in paper, 42 x 30 cm (DIN A3);
– sculpture pieces, 42 x 30 x 30 cm

The works should present on the reverse the following information: author´s name and address, title, theme section and year. The author’s CV in Portuguese or English (publications, exhibitions, prizes…) should also be sent.

The works should arrive at the PORTUGUESE PRINTING PRESS MUSEUM until March 12th 2012, with the entry form.

• The author may send up to three (3) work(s)

*Karikatur Vakfi tarafindan duzenlenen 18.Uluslararasi Ankara 7-77 Karikatur Festivali 20-23 Nisan 2012 tarihlerinde dort gun sureyle, ulkemizde 83’uncu kez kutlanacak 23 Nisan Cocuk Bayrami etkinlikleri sirasinda COCUKLAR icin yapilacaktir.

*18.Uluslararasi Ankara 7-77 Karikatur Festivali kapsaminda 8.ULUSLARARASI 7-77 KARIKATUR YARISMASI duzenlenmistir. 17. INTERNATIONAL CARTOON EXHIBITION ZAGREB 2012

A. PARTICIPATION
The organizer of the 17th International festival of cartoon ZAGREB 2012
is the Croatian Cartoonist Association. The festival is opened for everyone
regardless of nationality, age, sex, or profession.

Conditions of entry:
1. Original works and digital artworks will be accepted. Digital
artwork is to be numbered in pencil on the front and pencil
signed. Copies cannot be admitted.
2. Entries can be either black and white or coloured.
3. There should be the name, the surname and the adress on the
reverse side of cartoons.
4. The cartoons must not have been previously awarded on
festivals.
5. Maximum 3 entries will be submitted.
6. Size of entries is A4 or A3 format.

The organizer reserves the right to reproduce the works sent to the festival, Zagreb 2012,

as the advertising material without being obliged to pay a fee to an author whose work may be used.
The prize-winning works become property of the organizer.

The International Cartoonists Club CARTUNION invites cartoonists from around the world to take part in
the contest "We are electing."

The election – is not only a formal democratic procedure, but also a great chance to explore the human nature.

Here, at the polling station, you have a chance to watch the clash of amazing characters, to
observe the cowardice and desperate insolence on one side and the civic courage of the other.

In other words, the election is the perfect reason for artists-satirists to roll up their sleeves and take up a pencil or a
computer mouse.

The rules of the contest:

1. Works should be sent electronically to the following address: cartoongallery@gmail.com
2. Picture format: A3, jpg or gif. The resolution should be
sufficient for high quality printing (at least 300 dpi).
3. Deadlines for sending: February 15, 2012
4. The authors of the three best works will be awarded with the Honorary Diploma of the International Cartoonists Club.
5. The organizers reserve the right to publish the submitted drawings
without monetary compensation.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Regardless of religion, language and race, this competition is open to all amateur and professional caricature artists or anyone who can draw cartoons.

2. Theme: "A World without Engineers"

3. Pieces of work to be sent for the competition should have the form of a cartoon. Pictures and illustrations will not be accepted.

4. Cartoons to be sent for the competition should be in digital format. The Sizes of the Cartoons should be either A4 or A3 with a minimum 100 and maximum 300 dpi. Both color or black & white are acceptable. Name, surname, address, phone number and e-mail address of each participant should be indicated. Cartoons submitted for the competition should not contain any script – writing on them.

5. A person can not be given more than one award.

6. Before they are presented for the Selection Committee members’ evaluation, all cartoons submitted for the competition will be exhibited on a website formed with the aim of bringing submitted pieces of work to the attention and objection of all cartoon artists, cartoonists’ organizations and any other international organizations formed against similar – imitated – stolen cartoons. If a submitted piece of work is found to be similar, imitated or stolen, it will be disqualified from the competition.

7. Each participant may join the competition with two cartoons at most. Along with the cartoons, a short biography in the Microsoft Word format [.doc] including name, surname, address, phone number and e-mail information and a recent photo of the applicant in the ".jpg" format should be submitted.

8. All submitted cartoons will be archived at "Cyprus International Cartoon Museum" to be formed by the Association of Turkish Cypriot Cartoonists (FECO – CYPRUS) regardless of the fact that they receive an award or not.

9. All cartoons submitted for the competition may be printed, duplicated or published on cards, posters, albums, newspapers, magazines, books and CDs by FECO – CYPRUS. By submitting cartoons for the competition, the participants fully understand and agrees with the terms of the competition. Participants also agree to the future duplication, printing or publishing of materials relating to this competition without any financial compensation.

10. Results of the competition, as well as the selection committee decisions, will be released to the cartoonists who have qualified to receive awards, all participants and press.

11. Cartoons should be sent to the specified e-mail address by 20 March 2012.

12. Works of art sent for this competition will not be used in any other different event serving for any other purpose than this competition. However, Eastern Mediterranean University reserves the right to use these caricatures for non-profit educational activities or events.

13. Should the cartoonists who have won awards in this competition wish to attend the award ceremony and the exhibition, they undertake all transportation expenses. Accommodation and any other related expenses will be covered by EMU.

KATILIM KOSULLARI:

1 – Bu yarisma din, dil veya irk ayrimi yapilmaksizin, amator ve profesyonel, tum dunya karikaturculerine veya karikatur cizebilen herkese aciktir.

2 – Konu: "Muhendislerin Olmadigi Bir Dunya" [Muhendisler Olmasaydi Dunya Nasil Olurdu]

3 – Yarismaya gonderilecek eserler karikatur tarzinda olmalidir. Resim veya illistrasyon tarzinda olan eserler kabul edilmez.

4 – Yarismaya gonderilecek eserler dijital olacaktir. Olcu: A4 veya A3… En az 100, en fazla 300 dpi… Siyah-beyaz veya renkli. Her katilimci isim, soy isim, adres, telefon, e-posta adresini yazacaktir. Gonderilecek karikaturler yazisiz olacaktir.

5 – Yarismada bir kisiye birden fazla odul verilemez.

6 – Yarismaya gonderilen tum karikaturler, secici kurul uyelerinin degerlendirmesine sunulmazdan once, olusturulacak bir web sayfasinda yayinlanacak ve karikaturcu orgutlerin, benzer-taklit-calinti karikaturlere karsi olusturulan uluslararasi organizasyonlarin ve tum cizerlerin dikkatine ve itirazina getirilecektir. Herhangi bir karikaturun calinti, taklit veya benzer oldugu tespit edildigi taktirde, o karikatur yarisma disi birakilacaktir.

7 – Yarismaya en cok 2 eser ile katilmak mumkundur. Eserlerlerle birlikte word [.doc] formatinda [isim, soyisim, adres, telefon, e-posta bilgilerini iceren bilgiler] kisa ozgecmis ve .jpg formatinda bir adet fotograf gonderilmelidir.

8 – Gonderilecek karikaturler, odul alsin veya almasin, Kibris Turk Karikaturculer Dernegi [FECO-CYPRUS] tarafindan olusturulacak "Uluslararasi Kibris Karikatur Muzesi"nin arsivine kalacaktir.

9 – Yarismaya gonderilen tum karikaturler, kart, poster, album, gazete, magazin, kitap, CD ve benzeri tekniklerle basilip cogaltilabilecektir. Katilimcilar yarismaya eser gondermekle, yarisma kosullarini kabul ettiklerini ve gonderdikleri eserlerin yukarida belirtilen yerlerde kullanimi halinde, gelecekte herhangi bir maddi tazmin istemeyeceklerini kabul etmis olacaklardir.

10 – Yarisma sonuclari, secici kurul tutanagi ile birlikte, odul kazanan cizerlere, tum katilimcilara ve basin – yayin organlarina bildirilecektir.

11 – Eserler en gec 20 Mart 2012 tarihine dek belirtilen e – posta adresine ulastirilmis olmalidir.

12 – Bu yarismaya gonderilen eserler, bu yarisma amaclari disinda herhangi bir farkli etkinlikte kullanilamayacaktir. Ancak, Dogu Akdeniz Universitesi, yarismaya gonderilen karikaturleri, universitenin kar amaci gutmeyen egitimle ilgili etkinliklerinde kullanabilecektir.

13 – Yarismada odul kazanan karikaturculer, odul toreni ile sergiye katilmak istedikleri taktirde, her turlu ulasim giderleri kendileri tarafindan, konaklama vd. giderler DAU tarafindan karsilanacaktir.
