The First International Student Festival of Visual Arts

The 1st International Festival of university students Visual Arts is an outcome of unceasing scholarly and research activities of the art community conveners, According to its range and variety in expert and super-expert areas, it can be considered as a comprehensive and unique event in the academic community. We hope that, this event will be a fertile ground for interaction and cooperation among the artists, and be successful in a quantitative and qualitative increase in the art products, as well as introducing the artistic potentials to the global community.

Goals and Approaches
— Research in thought & meaning as the basis of global art
— Clarification of modern art’s approaches with focus on the Iranian visions
— Genealogy of global art in contraction with eastern art
— Investigation of art relating to the nobility and concept of national and local arts
— planning for participation of all scholars and students for transnational co-pondering in the realm of visual arts

Second subject: The festival’s goal and attitudes (only in articles)
Third subject: university student (in caricature & free part)
Forth subject: peace (in graphic)
Free subject: (in all of the parts)

General rules:
 There is no limitation on the technique and the usage of the materials in all parts.
 There is no limitation on the size of the work in all parts.
 Individual or group works are invited with no restriction regarding age or nationality.
 Works previously awarded at the other festivals will not be accepted in competition part.
 The techniques and creations which are based on national or native arts of all the countries will be appreciated.
 There is no limitation regarding novel ways in expression and structure.
 There is no entry fee for all parts
 All university students may participate in this festival.
 The committee will provide insurance cover for all work in its possession and during the return journey of works to the applicant’s address.

Particular Rules
The parts which are not mentioned here should follow the General Rules.
Research
• The articles should be related to the concept of spirituality or the goals and attitude of the festival.
• Each main article has to have a maximum of 25 pages or 6000 words in English, with the images in JEPG or TIFF format.
• The abstract should be 150-300 words, with a maximum of 5 keywords
• The articles previously published in ISC/ISI will not be taken into the competition, but will be appreciated in another (neighboring) part.

Assessment and Selection
An initial selection based on Pictures, slides, and movies will be taken by the assessment committee before entering the exhibition. The successful applicants from the initial selection process will be invited to submit their work(s) for entering the final assessment.
The committee will contact the artists to ask them to submit the original work.
Deliverables:
First reception: delivering the image of the works with a high quality (a maximum of 5 works in each part).
Second reception: asking the accepted artists to submit the original work or a picture of the work in a manner that it can be exhibited.

Important dates:
• First Reception: deliver Images and photos (until the end of 15th June 2010)
• Second Reception: deliver Real works (period: June15th_5th July 2010)

Awards and privileges
• The author of selected works will be invited to Iran
• Festival’s tablet and cash prizes will be donated to the selected works
• The picture of some works will be exhibited in the international part.
• All the accommodation charges will be paid by the festival committee

 All the applicants in Painting, Miniature, Modern art, Graphics and Caricature parts have to also fill in proposal form 1, for each Individual work.
 Each applicant may deliver the images of a maximum of 5 works in the first reception.
 The works should be in video format (DVCAM- HD- BETACAM-MIN DV)
 A maximum of 3 works in each part will be accepted by the festival committee In the second reception
 The delivered works in the second reception should be without frame and glass.
 Send the applications forms and other required things to info@iufva.com or post them to the festival committee ( see address below)
 As the festival recommends, first go to the www.iufva.com and then move to the submission part and then send your image files through the recipe.
 If application is sent by post, it must include a CD with images as specified.
 Deliver CD(s)in tif or .jpg formats, with the quality of 300 dpi the title)
 Applicant must ensure that the image represent the object as clearly as possible. Images of inadequate quality will be rejected.

The organizer of 6th International festival of cartoon Solin 2010.Is the city Solin.The festival is opened for everyone regardless of nationality, age,sex, or profesion.

Conditions of entry:

1. All entries must be original cartoons. Framed works,also,will not be accepted.

2. Entries can be either black and white or colored.

3. There should be the name, surname and the address on the reverse side of cartoons.

The exhibition will take place in the galery of the culture home „ZVONIMIR" Solin on the 20.08.2010.

8.OTHER CONDITIONS

Authors of works that quality to the exhibition are given a presentation copy of the exhibition catalogue (DVD). The works will be returned only on the special reqest of an autor.The postage EUR5 will be paid by autor. The organizer reserves the right to reproduce the works sent to the festival, Solin 2010, as the advertising material without being obliged to pay a fee to an author whose work may be used.The prize-winning works become property of the organizer.
