Introduction
The Asian Youth Animation and Comic Contest is rapidly becoming the premier contest, anticipated event, and the most prestigious award for original Asian animation and comics throughout the world.
Established in the People’s Republic of China, the Asian Youth Animation & Comics Contest (hereinafter referred to as “AYACC”) is authorized by All China Youth Federation, and hosted by ACYF International Project Cooperation Center, Cartoon Commission of China TV Artists Association, and Guiyang government.
AYACC is dedicated to:
· Integrating the cultural resources of Asia
· Promoting the influence of Asian animation and comics
· Creating a cultural image of Asia for the world and for the distinct cultures of Asia
· Providing a platform of information and educational exchange
· Boosting development of the Asian animation industry
The Theme of 2008 AYACC is “Cartoon Dream”, which involves animated television series, animated shorts, comics, comic books, illustration, and other forms of cartoon art.
The Grand Prize and more than 30 other awards has been set up for the Contest, such as Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Student Work and Best Visual Effects. The total amount of prize will be 100,000 RMB together with trophy
A grand Awarding Ceremony will be held on July 18 2008 in Guiyang, China. All prize winners will be invited to the ceremony, and participate in a series of programs including “Cartoon Industry Development Forum”, “Best Animation & Comics Show” and “Cartoon Night Party”.
AYACC has promoted its event among 20 Asian countries and regions, including Japan, Korea, India, Israel, Thailand, Russia, Malaysia, Turkey, Singapore, the Philippines, Iran, Kuwait, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the People’s Republic of China, as well as welcoming the participation of Asian youth around the world. AYACC has received great response and participation worldwide. The Asian Embassies in China have also expressed their willingness to support the event by organizing participation of their domestic artists.
AYACC is integrating the top-level resources of the Asian cartoon industry, boosting the influence of the Asian cartoon, advancing the development of Asian cartoon image, and providing an information exchange platform for the Asia cartoon industry.
AYACC is becoming a primary beacon for Asian cartoon arts, and the premier showcase of young Asian artists, while celebrating the cartoon arts of Asia with grand ceremony.
