A close examination to the cartoons at
http://files.donquichotte.org/nhodja-similars-end.jpg
persuaded me that the large majority of the cartoons here presented
(a bit of doubts on Aydin Dogan 2008 and Aydin Dogan 2001)
are not just similar but they almost are the exact copies of previous cartoons
So I have to agree with all the other cartoonists and ask to Erdogan
to please add my name to the list, if you like.

Dear friends and humor lovers!
It came a very important support to our campaign
that we launched for can see it cleaner and
stronger of every way.
Brazilian cartoonist Amorim who in jury at Nasreddin Hodja,
sent a mail us and he said agree with our view point to
similar cartoons and wanted to join to signature campaign.
Thanks a lot to Amorim for his courage and self-confidence
who one of the best cartoon master in the world.
With this great step Our campaign has
further strengthened.

“Karikatur” sanatini her yönden daha temiz ve güclu bir
sanat olarak gorebilmek icin baslattigimiz kampanyamiza
cok onemli bir destek daha geldi.
“Nasreddin Hoca” jurisinde de yer alan Brezilyali karikaturcu
Amorim, bize gonderdigi mailde,
„Don Quichotte“ sitesinde yayinladigimiz
“Benzer” orneklere bakis acisinin bizlerle ayni oldugunu ve
„Karikatürcüler“ listesine kendi adinin da yazilmasini istedi.
Dünyanin en büyük karikatur ustalarindan biri olan Amorim‘e
bu cesareti ve özgüveni icin ne kadar tesekkur etsek az.
Bu imza ile kampanyamiz daha da güclendi.

Gelismeleri yeni haber aldim.
Kisisel kanilarimi tekrarlamak istiyorum:
1- Yarismalarda “Yenilik” en onemli amactir.
2- Adaylarin juri oncesi yayinlanmasi, cok eksIkli de olsa
simdilik bulabildigimiz en iyi onlem;
cunku, hicbir juri, yayimlanmis tum karikaturleri bilmek ve hatirlamak
kudret ve mecburiyetinde olamaz.
3- Bu yontemi uygulamayanlar:
“-Biz juriyiz, polis degiliz, her yarismaci, kendi yapitindan sorumludur!
Odul iptalini, asagilayici bir davranis olarak buluyoruz.
Uc-bes hirsiz icin masumlari kirmayalim.” diye dusunuyorlarsa,
bu da kesinlikle saygi duydugum bir baska secenektir.
4-“Yeniliklerin odullendirilmesi” ugruna ben ilk yontemden yanayim.
Bir karikaturun benzerinin bulunup yayinlanmasinin, bir “yakalama” degil,
kinci cizere yapilan bir “hatirlatma” ve “Yarisma” kurumuna
bir “yardim” olarak algilanmasi gerekir.
Ustelik yayimlamamanin da onur kirici olma tehlikesi var:
Benzerli karikaturu cizen meslektasimizin, odul sonrasinda, benzerler ortaya cikinca
gosterecegi tepkileri izlememizi saglar.

Dear DQ!
I just learned it. I would like to repeat my personal opinions:
1- “Newness” is the most important aim in the competitions.
2- Before the jury, publication of the candidates at the internet,
is a best measure that we found for now, although it is defective.
Because, none of the juries have a power or an obligation
to know all published cartoons.
3- If some juries don’t apply this method and if they are saying:
“We are jury, not police, every competitor is responsible for his work.
Cancellation of a prize is an insult.
We must not hurt the innocents for a few thieves!”
This is another alternative that I respect clearly.
4- I’m for the first alternative for the sake of to reward of the “Newness”.
To find and to publish the similar of a cartoon isn’t “to collar”,
but it’s “to remind” the secondary cartoonist,
“to help” to the institution of Cartooning.
Not to publish them, can be degrading also:
After the announcement of the prizes, when the similars appear,
we can observe the reactions of the owner of similar cartoon.
