7)Choosing and Presenting works:
The contest organization committee will invite the domestic and foreign renowned cartoonists to form the appraisal committee, who will discuss and elect the excellent works, simultaneously, they will host the corresponding evaluation work on the line too.
After the election had ended, we will invite the cartoonists who got the prizes and the appraisal committee to come to the Guangxi City College or the Guangxi Museum to attend the contest presentation ceremony, please pay attention to the announcement of media by the organization committee.
8)Copyrights:
Guangxi City College has the following rights to the participative works:
(1) The works will be displayed permanently on the website of Guangxi City College;
(2) The works can be collected, published, and displayed or auctioned in public;
(3) The works can be published in other media and publications;
(4) The organization unit can authorize others in legitimate applications.
All participative authors regarded as tacitly approve this contest rule.

28. ULUSLARARASI NASREDDIN HOCA KARIKATÜR YARISMASI

Koþullar

a) Yarýþma bütün dünya karikatürcülerine açýktýr.
b) Yarýþmaya gönderilecek karikatürlerin yayýnlanmýþ ya da yayýnlanmamýþ olmalarý aranmayacaktýr. Ancak daha önce baþka bir yarýþmada ödül almamýþ olmalýdýr.
c) Yarýþma konusu serbesttir.
d) Yarýþmaya bir karikatür ile katýlýnabilir.
e) Gönderilecek karikatürlerin boyutlarý 30 x 40 cm’den büyük olmamalýdýr. Karikatürler mutlaka orijinal olmalýdýr.
f) Katýlanlar eserlerinin arkasýna büyük harflerle adýný, soyadýný, adresini, telefon numarasýný, ülkesini yazmalýdýr. Sanatçýlar kýsa özgeçmiþlerini karikatürlerine eklemelidir.
g) Karikatürler en geç 31 Temmuz 2008 tarihine   kadar verilen adrese ulaþmýþ olmalýdýr.
h) Sonuçlar 11 Aðustos 2008 günü açýklanacaktýr.
ý) Yarýþmaya katýlan tüm karikatürler Karikatürcüler  Derneði tarafýndan Ýstanbul Karikatür ve Mizah Müzesi’nde saklanacaktýr.
i) Yarýþma karikatürleri bir albümde toplanacak,albüme girecek eserler ve sergilenmeye deðer görülenler jüri tarafýndan seçilecektir. Eserleri sergilenenlere ve albümde yayýnlananlara yarýþma albümü gönderilecektir.
j) Yarýþma karikatürleri ödül töreni sonrasýnda Ýstanbul’da, daha sonra Ankara, Ýzmir, Adana, Antalya, Trabzon gibi Türkiye’nin büyük kentlerinde sergilenecektir.

28. INTERNATIONAL NASREDDIN HODJA CARTOON CONTEST

Nasreddin Hodja, the master of Turkish humourists, lived in Aksehir between 1208-1285. He is partly medresse-educated (Muslim theological school), partly self-trained. Historical information on his life and personality is highly limited, but from what has travelled by word-of-mouth from generation to generation, we understand him to have been a significant folk philosopher, with a view on life as intensely amusing as it is stimulating and giving food for thought. He is so much at one with the people that perhaps it is truer to say he lived his works rather than created them. With a strong social personality, Nasreddin Hodja constitutes the nucleus of Turkish folk humour, with stories emanating from his personality being woven by the people around his character century after century, so that the humour of Hodja has reached our day as vigorous and as close to people’s heart as ever.

The Association of Cartoonists maintains that in the struggle for a more tolerant and peaceful world, humour, in other words “the laughing thought” and its universal language, caricature is the most effective weapon against the thought that does not laugh. Bearing this aim in mind, the Association of Cartoonists is organizing each year the International Nasreddin Hodja Cartoon Contest to the living memory of Nasreddin Hodja, Turkish master of popular humour.
28th INTERNATIONAL NASREDDIN HODJA CARTOON CONTEST
“ One Cartoon , Original Cartoon, the Best Cartoon…”

THE CONDITIONS
a)The contest is open to all cartoonists all over the world.
b) The cartoonists are free to participate with already published works as long as these works have not previously been awarded in any other contest.
c) Choice of subject is free.
d) The participants may send only one work.
e) The dimensions of works should not exceed 30 x 40 cm and only originals are accepted.
f) Name, surname, address, phone number and country of origin of the participant should be written on the back of his/her work. And also a short CV of the participant should be attached.
g) The works must reach the organizing association not later than July 31,  2008.
h) The results will be announced on  August 11,  2008. i) The participating cartoons will be kept at the Cartoon and Humour Museum of Istanbul by the Association of Cartoonists.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   j) The participating cartoons will be put into an album. The cartoons for the album and the exhibition will be selected by a jury. The album will be sent to the cartoonists whose pieces of work are exhibited and published in the album.
k) The participating works will be exhibited first in Ýstanbul, then the big cities of Turkey such as Ankara, Izmir, Adana and Antalya.
l) Participants are considered to have accepted all the conditions.
